Website for MattCode.com has been released

I am please to announce that MattCode.com has officially been launched. It has been months in the making and is now ready to go public. It will always be a work in progress. New items will be added and imagery will be constantly changing. This site is ecommerce ready so when the album is completed it will be released for sale on the site for hard copy and download. However, the music will also be made available through various stores such as iTunes and Napster.

Studio Work
The studio work has been very successful to this point. I have a few select people that I have been bouncing the songs off of and they have expressed a great deal of excitement. This has also been tested on complete strangers selected randomly on the streets and they too have expressed that excitement.
Baring any unforeseen problems the songs should be available by October 1st.

You can visit the site by clicking here http://www.mattcode.com/

Back in the Studio!!

I have great news about my upcoming album. Things are starting to move along at a much faster pace than I anticipated. Starting on June 24th, I began working with my producer Uri Djemal at Madpan Studios in New York City. We started laying down 14 scratch tracks for what will be an 11-12 song album. Uri has helped me assemble some very strong musicians that I believe will help me complete this vision that I have had for the last year.

Here is the final makeup of the band.

Matt Code
Vox, Guitar

Uri Djemal
producer, mixer, engineer, guitar

Hari Ganglberger
Drums

Shane Koss
co-producer, arranger, additional engineering, keyboards

Phil Crain
Bass

The official pre-production begins July 21st. I have no set date for the release, because I want to make sure it's quality is at the level I desire. I hope to have all the production aspects of this album done by the beginning of September with a release date of October 1st. These dates are tentative so please be patient while we work in the studio. I want to thank everyone for all of the support you have shown me during the days of Barakus and up until now. I'm very excited for this album to become available for all of you to enjoy. Thank you,Matt Code

What's on the horizon

It has been a very long time. I apologize that I have not been on here for quite sometime. However, in my time off I have pulled together a lot of interesting songs. I was hoping that I could release an album in December of 2006, but my writing kept on evolving and better songs emerged. So, I decided to delay this project. There is a band in place and the songs are fully evolved to where I want them.

This is what's on the horizon. I was discussing with Erica my timeline for completing an 11 to 13 song album. We both agree with the caliber of musicians that I will be working on this project, that this can be done by September 1st. (Give or take a few months) This will not be released until it is to the level that I desire. Even if this means having it mixed over by different studios.

Some of you may notice that the myspace page is updated. This is my theme, perhaps to be explained at a different time. Also feel free to visit my home page at http://www.mattcode.com. The site will include the ability to purchase my CD's, posters, t-shirts, and other items. It is currently under construction so you will just have to wait for the release of the album, in the mean time bookmark the page.

This is the most exited I have been in my entire musical career. Please feel free to keep in touch. I do not answer emails on this myspace page. I receive way too many spam messages. You can add yourself on my personal account if you wish. I will chat with you there. (http://www.myspace.com/mattcodemusic)

I will see you in Autumn,

Matt Code
